“Parla solo di ciò che ti porterà onore. C’è un solo Dio. Il Suo nome è Verità; Egli è il Creatore. Non teme nessuno; è senza odio. Non muore mai; è al di là del ciclo di nascite e morti. È auto-illuminato. È realizzato dalla gentilezza del Vero Guru. Egli era Vero all’inizio; era Vero quando iniziarono le ere ed è sempre stato Vero. Egli è Vero anche ora. Brucia l’amore mondano, strofina le ceneri e trasformale in inchiostro, fai del cuore la penna, dell’intelletto lo scrittore, scrivi ciò che non ha fine né limite”. I Sikh credono nell’unità dell’umanità. Questa è la convinzione che tutti gli esseri umani sono uguali perché sono stati creati da Waheguru, che significa “Dio Meraviglioso” o “Signore Meraviglioso”. I Sikh credono anche che Waheguru sia presente in ogni individuo come scintilla divina.

Speak only that which will bring you honor. There is but One God. His name is Truth; He is the Creator. He fears none; He is without hate. He never dies; He is beyond the cycle of births and death. He is self-illuminated. He is realized by the kindness of the True Guru. He was True in the beginning; He was True when the ages commenced and has ever been True. He is also True now. Burn worldly love, rub the ashes and make ink of it, make the heart the pen, the intellect the writer, write that which has no end or limit Sikhs believe in the oneness of humanity. This is the belief that all humans are equal because they were created by Waheguru, which means “Wonderful God” or “Wonderful Lord”. Sikhs also believe that Waheguru is present in every individual as the divine spark.

ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰਦਾ; ਉਹ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦਾ; ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਵੈ–ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕੀਤਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੀ; ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ। ਸਿੱਖ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੀ ਏਕਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ‘ਅਦਭੁਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ‘ ਜਾਂ ‘ਅਦਭੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ‘। ਸਿੱਖ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜੋਤ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
